Installing a disc filter at the PM4 in Weißenborn. Integrating the disc filter with the sieve water system as well as the technological plant control.

Goals

The aim of the project is to save freshwater and energy. The project is making significant contributions to our ‘Green Lighthouse’ initiative. By 2030, this initiative aims to cut the plant's water requirements by 50% (2025: 25%) and its CO 2 emissions by 80% (2025: 30%). This allows us to contribute to the energy transition as a company and simultaneously create technological pilots for the company's transformation as a whole.

It is for this reason that we are creating lighthouses, with our ‘green lighthouse’ of Weißenborn leading the pack. This green lighthouse is, of course, connected to ambitious goals. The disc filter, going into operation in the spring of 2024, is a great step down the path of reducing our freshwater intake by a total of 25% by 2025. To resolutely implement the path we have embarked upon, public action promoting pure water-saving measures will prove decisive. Only in this way will we be able to reduce climate risks for paper-producing companies and position ourselves securely for the future.’
